War

How do I make an army?

To create an army, the first thing you have to do is raise your headquarters up to level 3. Once you've done that, you can construct a barracks and begin to train spearmen. From there, you should raise your headquarters to level 5, which will enable you to construct a smithy. With the smithy you can research the technology to create swordsmen. Raise the smithy once again to level 2, which will enable you to research the technology to create axemen. From there you can raise your smithy and your barracks, both to level 5 which will enable you to research the technology to create archers. Once you are finished this, you will have access to all of your infantry troops, and will be able to create an effective army focusing on either offense, defense, or both.

How do I upgrade all of my troops?

Whether or not you can upgrade your troops all depends on the world you play on. There are 3 types of settings.

  • The first type of research setting is the 3-step system. Each troop can be upgraded to a maximum of 3 times, however each village can only have 15 researched technologies active at any one time. If you want to research a different technology and you've already used all 15 spots, you have to decrease one of your current technologies in order to make room for the one you want to upgrade.
  • The second type of research setting is where you can upgrade each type of troop 10 times, and there is no limit to the amount of technologies you are allowed to have active per city. However this setting is rarely used.
  • The third type of research setting is where you only have to research each unit in order to build them. Troops on these worlds can't be upgraded.

What does support mean?

Support is basically helping another player, usually with troops. The two most common ways for support to be given is:

Offensive support - When a player coordinates attacks with another player, in order to assist them in killing troops and taking the village(s).

Defensive Support - When a player sends troops directly to the player, using the 'support' button. These troops will then help to defend the village against incoming attacks, until the support is removed by either player.

Other forms of support, or help can involve: Diplomatic help, in resolving a situation without attacking each other. Account sitting, helping a player by 'sitting' or looking after their account whilst they are away. Sometimes this is unsafe, so only let people you trust account sit you!

How long will my support troops stay in the village that I sent them to?

The support troops will remain in the village that they are sent to until:

  • The owner of the village that they are supporting sends them back to the village that they were sent from.
  • The village that they were sent from recalls them.

How do I withdraw support from a village?

To withdraw your support from a village, go to the Rally Point in the village your troops were sent from and select the "Troops" tab on the left. This will show you if someone else has their troops currently supporting your village, as well as which of your troops from the village you're in are supporting someone elses village. From here you can either choose to recall a specific amount of soldiers you have supporting someone elses base, or you can recall them all.

Why can't I control the troops that somebody else sent me as support?

You can only control troops belonging to you. You are effectively their 'leader' and give orders to them. With your troops, you can 'Attack' another village or 'Support' another village by clicking on their respective buttons in the rally point of the village. You can also 'withdraw support' when it has been sent to another village and has arrived there. Other options to do with troops are to cancel the attack or support you have sent. However there is a time limit to this, depending on the world that you are playing. The only way that you can control another's troops is by returning support once it is in your village.

If I send support to a village and then attack it, do my men fight each other?

Yes, if you send support to a village and then attack it, your troops will battle each other.

How far can I attack to plunder resources?

You can attack people as far away as you would like. However, if the purpose of the attack is to gather resources, commonly known as 'farming', it may be in the attackers best interests to attack villages close by, maximising the number of attacks, and therefore the number of resources gathered.

What is luck?

Luck is a number chosen at random. It can be positive or negative, and can vary from -25% to +25%. If your luck is -25% in a battle, your troops will be 25% weaker, where as if your luck is +25% in a battle, your troops will be 25% stronger. Luck cannot be influenced in any way.

If in an attack you have bad luck, will you have good luck in the next?

No. It's completely random.

Can I attack/take over an abandoned/barbarian village?

Yes. Anything you can do with a player-owned city you can do with a barbarian village, apart from communicate with it or send resources to it.

Why can't I control the troops I just used to take over a village?

The troops you send with your noble to take over a village are simply supporting that village until you choose to recall them back to their original village.

What happens when my village gets taken over?

When your village gets taken over, you lose all of the troops that belonged to it and you're left to control your remaining villages. If your last village gets taken over, you're given a new village and sent to the "Rim".

When you get a new village on the 'Rim', do you get beginner protection again?

Yes. You receive the beginner protection period that is the same as the first time, but specific to that world.

What happens if someone supports me and abandons right after?

If someone supports you and abandons their villages, their support will remain in your base unless the abandoned village is nobled.

If I send one attack with three noblemen, will it take more loyalty from the village?

If you make one attack with three noblemen, it will act as if only one nobleman was sent. If you want all three noblemen to decrease the loyalty of the village you're nobling, you have to send them in three separate attacks.

Can I scout an enemies technology?

No. You can only scout an enemy's resources, building levels, and troops in and outside a village. These also depend upon the success of the attack, what is allowed in the world, and in some cases the research level.

When I noble a village what happens to my nobleman?

When you noble a village, the nobleman that brings the village to 0 or less loyalty becomes that villages' king. Once this happens, you lose the nobleman and can't use him anymore. When the nobleman takes over a village, the loyalty of that village is also automatically raised back up to 25.

When I am logged off, can other villages come and attack mine?

Yes, they can. If you have someone you trust who also plays Tribalwars, you can set them as your account sitter when you're unavailable.

What is morale? Why do I have lower morale if I attack certain villages?

Morale is Tribalwars way of giving weaker players a chance against stronger players. when a stronger player attacks, they are put at a disadvantage. If an attacker has 50% morale then their troops will fight at 50% strength. If an attacker's morale was at 30%, then their troops will fight at 30% strength. A player must have less than one quarter of your points for you to incur a morale penalty.

When I scout another village, is the scouted village told?

Yes. If you scout someone, they will receive a report. The defending scouts will attempt to kill the attacking scouts. The more scouts you send, the more likely it is some will survive so you can receive your report on the players village that you scouted. If all your scouts are killed in the attempt to scout a players village, you will receive no report.

What is farming?

Farming is a term used for when a player attacks another village repeatedly for resources. See also: Tactics

Miscellaneous

For anything not covered above.

What is a barbarian village?

A barbarian village is a village that was once controlled by a player, but has since been abandoned. The player has either 'quit' and deleted his account on the world, or has been penalised for breaking the rules of the game. Barbarian villages cannot produce their own troops.

What does speed mean?

Game speed determines how fast the world progresses. If a world has a game speed of 1, which is the original speed, your resources at level 30 will produce 2400 per hour. If a world has a game speed of 2, everything will progress twice as fast as it would on a world with a game speed of 1.

Why do I keep losing battles?

If you are losing most of your battles, it is probably because of a flaw in your Tactics. For example, if you are attacking an enemy village with spearmen which are primarily used for defensive or farming purposes, there is a much higher chance that you will lose the battle rather than if you made an army of axemen which are made for offensive purposes. Read the Tactics section of the wiki if you are still having trouble understanding what it is that you're doing wrong.

Is it possible to get off a world, without waiting two weeks?

Yes. Click Settings on the top menu and select Delete Account on the side menu. Enter your password and click ok, marking your account for deletion. About a week later a Tribalwars Moderator will remove your account for you. This will not delete your entire account, it will just delete your account on that specific server.

For example, if you were playing world 30 as well as world 37, and you deleted your account on world 37, your world 30 account would remain unaffected.

Once you have set your account to delete, so long as you do not log in to that account again, you can create another account on that world within a few hours of setting your original account to delete, should you wish to do so.
